The students were very excited when they were able to use the new playground equipment. We had a ribbon cutting ceremony and were able to thank Mr. Robinson, Donnie, and Jaydee for all they did to get it ready and make sure the inspection was done, so it could be used. We are very fortunate to have people who work so hard to make sure our students are taken care of and have things to enjoy.

Here are the plans for our next junior high basketball games. We will be traveling to Briggsdale tomorrow January 12th. With the covid, restrictions no parents or fans will be allowed to watch the game in person. We will leave the school at 3:10 P.M. and will return to Pawnee between 6:30 and 7:00 P.M. We will not be allowed to use locker rooms so the players will put their uniforms on at school and wear them to the game. If your student has sweats that they can wear over their uniform I would encourage them to bring them. We will have water and snacks for them on the bus. If you have any questions please contact me at the school. The game will be live streamed and can be viewed at the following link. https://www.facebook.com/Briggsdale-Athletics-101081301957360/?view_public_for=101081301957360 John Foster

A meeting with the Governor's Task Force on Coronavirus encouraged schools to pass on the following information: (As seen on television)
Hospitals have been expanded in the state to accomodate higher numbers of COVID patients than last April and May.
All populations are seeing increasing numbers of infections. Especially in the last 2 weeks.
Incidence numbers in Weld County have changed from the yellow level to the red on their chart.
They expect a peak to hit mid to late December.
Risk of virus transmission is higher now than it was in summer because people are indoors more.
Three things they suggest everybody do that may help to avoid another Stay-at-Home order are:
1. Only interact with members of your family for social gatherings. (school excepted)
2. Wear a mask.
3. Stay at home.

Pawnee School will extend At-Home learning until November 30th. I know we are all dissapointed, but under the circumstances it is in the best interest of the staff, students, and community to remain at home through the Thanksgiving holiday.
The assignments that your students have ready to turn in will be received on Tuesday the 17th in exchange for new ones that will be due on November 30th when we return.
If your student rides the bus, the exchange will be done on the route that will run Tuesday morning leaving school at about 8AM.
If your student drives or walks to school, the school will be open for exchange between 8AM and Noon on Tuesday the 17th.
Please help the school and your students with this exchange.
We look forward to seeing all the students when we plan return to in-person learning on November 30. The district hopes the extended at-home learning combined with the holiday will get everybody in good health to stay in school until the Christmas break.
Thank You for your support in a difficult time, B. Robinson, Supt.

Just a reminder. The Junior High Football game with Briggsdale this Thursday November 12th has been canceled.

Pawnee expects to resume in-person learning on November 17. Please remember that all of us should be observing safer-at-home guidelines for COVID exposure during this time. Watch your family for any symptoms of the virus and please report any concerns to the district which may delay our return. Students should have assignments already from their teachers aside from the few which we will be delivering tomorrow morning. All assignments should be completed upon return.
Thanks, and stay safe!

The junior high football game scheduled with Briggsdale next Thursday November 12 has been canceled.

Due to the quarantine, today's JH FB game has been cancelled.

We have just now received notification that a teacher has tested positive for COVID. This teacher has been in contact with most students, therefore, the most responsible thing to do is send students home immediately and go on quarantine. Buses will run this morning at about 9:30. If you would like to pick up your student(s), please do so as soon as possible. If your student typically rides the bus and you would like to pick them up, please contact the school before 9:30 and we will hold them here for pick up. If your student does not ride the bus, please come and pick them up as soon as possible or contact the school so we can make arrangements. We will send out more notifications as more information becomes available. Please keep a close eye on our website for updates.

COVID Exposure- The district will have 2 teachers in quarantine after possible exposure to a positive case. This is the recommended action from the health department. We do not have a positive case in school, but wanted you to know so we can support whatever decision you make regarding your student.
Thanks, Bret Robinson Pawnee supt.

Don't forget! Picture retakes are tomorrow!

At-Home Learning Plans-
As most of you know from the postings that went out last night the district has a positive COVID-19 case and will need to quarantine for a period of time for the safety of our students and staff. The district involved the County Health Department in making the best decision for all involved, and although the exposure was very limited please watch your students for any signs of COVID, get them tested if necessary, and please let the district know if we have any additional cases. The district has done a great job at keeping things disinfected, and encouraged all the recommended procedures for preventing spread. This should help us return to school as early as possible, and we will continue these efforts to prevent outbreaks. Isolated cases are going to happen.
Teachers may have contacted you last night or today regarding assignments to be done at home, which will begin tomorrow the 14th.
We have some things really working in our favor, and I hope you can look for the positives and get through this brief quarantine period.
Tomorrow, Wednesday the 14th, between 2 and 4pm we will open the school for materials pickup by students and parents, and we will also run the bus routes with assignments at this time for those who normally ride the bus. There will be just the ONE pickup and delivery scheduled tomorrow afternoon. Students will receive 1 weeks’ worth of work. If there are no other infections, then all completed work comes back with students when they return to in-person instruction on October 21st.
At this time there are no changes to the conferences schedule. Conferences will be scheduled by phone or virtually for Friday the 23rd.
Concerning end of quarter. Our scheduled end of quarter is in the middle of our quarantine period, so we will do end of quarter grades based on progress as of last Thursday the 8th, so the next quarter will begin with the COVID time out, and we will absorb those grades when we all return.
Thanks, Bret Robinson, Supt.

Notice: Playing football this fall is back on the table. Once again CHSAA and the Governor’s Covid Task Force are working on protocols that may allow us to play football this fall. With this decision forthcoming, hopefully tomorrow or Wednesday, we will not have trap shooting practice this week. If CHSAA and the Governor's office, and our local school board approve football this fall we will move our trap league to the spring as it has been in the past. We will begin football practice next Monday the 21st of September for both junior high and high school.

Welcome back to the families of Pawnee School!
We are all looking forward to a great year!
This has been one of the most interesting times we have had for our school, community, and as a Nation. Some of us have not seen each other in person since last March when the pandemic changed so many things for us all. We hope this summer has been both refreshing and productive for all of you, and some of your life has gotten back to normal! Summer staff have been working hard up at the school to prepare for the new academic year by cleaning, ordering supplies, and doing routine summer repairs. We are excited about some of the safety improvements made to your school so we can resume in-person learning. We will be following the calendar published last April with a couple minor modifications.
Please see our website or Pawnee App for the latest updates regarding starting school; including relaxation of current COVID rules as some of them are set to expire soon. The board makes the final decisions regarding how these rules affect the district. I know the one many of you are watching is the mask order.
If you have a high school student and would like to review or change their schedule, plan on stopping by and spending some time with me in the afternoon of August 13th. You can also call the office and make an appointment for an earlier day. Schedule changes are also possible the first week of class.
Screening for symptoms of COVID should start at home. This will help the district keep all the students and staff safe and keep us in school. If your student is sick for any reason, please keep them at home.
At this time “Back to School Night” will be postponed due to restrictions and complications in staying in compliance with the current COVID rules. We plan to have a back to school celebration once some of the restrictions are lifted and we can all really enjoy the evening!
Thanks,
Bret Robinson, Supt.

Good Work!
Thanks goes out to all the families that are establishing a routine to support the at-home education plan that Pawnee has in place. Assignments are coming in and going out well for the most part. If you need support please call the school or email your teachers directly. Hang in there!

Parents and students; as you finish up your first week of assignments it is our hope that you have worked hard, and established a routine and learning environment. Remember that these assignments need to be ready for the bus or office turn-in Monday when you will also get assignments for the next week. As issues come up with your schoolwork, please let us know so we can help. This is new and different, but it is what we have to do for the time being. We miss you and look forward to seeing you soon!

Parents and students!
Today is the first day of your at-home learning. This is new for all of us and although I’m sure there will be some growing pains and adjustments as we go, we can all get through this together. We will have assignments ready for pickup and delivery as previously planned, and we recommend highly that you treat these assignments as you would anything else you bring into your house. The virus can live on most surfaces for 24 hrs. We are taking every precaution to not transmit the virus to you, so please do the same to protect your home. See the links to COVID-19 for more details on the spread of the virus.
We suggest you get on a set schedule for your at-home education. Get up in the morning and develop a routine to do a set amount of time at a designated quiet place where you can concentrate and work until you are finished. Don’t put off getting your assignments done or let them pile up.
Also, we have an update for those of you who are taking advantage of our food program or would like to. It is for all students and it is pretty good! On Mondays you can get 3 days’ worth at the Pawnee School from 11:15 to 12:15, and on Thursdays you can get 4 days’ worth at the Hereford Park or at the Pawnee School from 11:15 to 12:15. If you can’t make the Monday or Thursday deliveries please call the school office to make special arrangements at 970-895-2222.
Thanks, stay safe, and DON’T FORGET TO DO YOUR HOMEWORK!
Mr. Robinson
