Spring Concert

Dear Pawnee parents,

I hope this letter finds you well and warm into the final quarter of the year! I’m writing to inform you about the upcoming Spring Concert taking place on Tuesday, March 16th at 6:00pm. However, if school is curtailed on Monday due to the impending snowstorm, the concert will be moved to the following Thursday to ensure students have ample time to prepare for the show. This date usually serves as our Solo & Small Ensemble Concert, but due to my curriculum shifting quite a bit this year, I’ve decided to make it a platform for each grade to showcase what they’ve been able to accomplish so far this semester (and as you’ll hear, it’s quite a bit!). The following grades have performances planned for the evening: K & 1st, 2nd & 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and High School Band.

The concert will take place in the gym as our concerts have in the past, however we’ll need to adhere to a couple rules set forth by the county. Masks will need to be worn and appropriate social distancing will have to take place between family units. The total amount of audience members we’re allowed to house is 150, not including performers. This number should account for a few family members per student, but we ask that you help us keep attendance down to a minimum to prevent exceeding capacity. If you are experiencing or have recently experienced any of these symptoms in the past two weeks, please remain home:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

Both video and audio of the concert will be recorded and will be available via YouTube and Google Drive to share with friends & family a few days after the concert.

If your student(s) is performing Tuesday night, please communicate with them about practicing their parts this weekend, as well as what their attire should be for the concert. Elementary school students should wear formal clothes, and Middle & High School students will confer with each other about what their uniform will look like. Elementary school students should arrive in their classroom between 5:30 and 5:45pm, and JH - HS students should arrive at 5:15pm.

We’re looking forward to seeing you at our first LIVE MUSIC CONCERT in a YEAR! Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns!
