The Creative Arts Life Skills classes had the privilege of learning how to spin wool into yarn from Cris Nicklas. Cris has been spinning her own yarn for knitting for several decades and recently showed the students how to card wool and use a spinning wheel. While she demonstrated her craft, she also gave an interesting history on the development of fibers and textiles throughout the world. She brought numerous articles she had knitted with the wool she spun and dyed herself. A big thank you to Cris for sharing this ancient art with our students!
