The art classes have been busy! Kindergarten/1st and 2nd Graders just finished their focal point cats! 3rd and 4th Graders made amazing bubbles with paint and oil pastels. The 5th graders explored printing making, making positive and negative prints. The 6th and 7th graders learned how to carve their own stamps to print with. The high school class made their own stamps and made radial prints with them. They have all done a wonderful job!

High School Art Students designed a wall and "tagged" it with Graffiti (their names). They did a great job thinking out their project and creating it!

In July the Varsity level Clay Target Team travelled to the National Competition for the first time. The national level of competition is extraordinary! The trap range able to handle such a large event is in Mason, MI which is just South of Lansing. It was 2 long days of travel in the school van each way with the five boys and two coaches' equipment, supplies, and clothes for the week. The team took in some sights along the way and lots of local cuisine during their stay, but for the several days of the shoot it was all business, breaking as many of the 500 targets as they could. Our team was the only registered team to represent Colorado although there were some other athletes from our state who competed in the individual part of the competition. Our team represented Pawnee well. Although we did not place in the top ten teams, the competition was so intense that only 44 broken targets separated our score from first place. What a great experience for our students!

We recently sent out the proposed changes to every student household. The PROPOSED policy will be put to vote at the July School Board meeting. If you have questions or input, please attend the next board meeting on Monday, July 22,2024 at 7pm. Thanks!
